Needle-Free Anaesthesia With Jet Injector

Güncelleme tarihi: 4 May 2019

NO NEEDLE

Trypanophobia, more commonly known as fear of needles, is a surprisingly common phobia. While it is difficult to determine just how prevalent this is within society, it’s predicted that around 10% of the world’s population suffers from this, with 20% of the population expressing at least a discomfort with the thought of medical needles. For this reason, the demand for alternatives has grown considerably and one solution currently available is Needle-Free Anaesthesia with a Jet Injector offered in Turkey.

Needles have previously been necessary in order to administer local and general anaesthetics and as a result, a number of people suffering from hair loss may have forgone treatment out of fear of this stage of the process. Needle-free anaesthesia administered with a jet injector, however, eliminates the need for a needle at all.

The jet injector administers the anaesthetic using a high-speed stream of fluid, which penetrates the skin and enters the bloodstream. This method has seen faster administration of anaesthetic in a pain-free manner that not only ensures those with needle phobia can undergo treatment in comfort but relieves all patients the pain of needle-insertion.

Needle-Free vs. Traditional Anaesthesia

Needle-free anaesthesia with jet injector can counter a number of concerns associated with the more traditional application of not just an anaesthetic, but other drugs too. These include:

Painless delivery of anaesthetics and other drugsA solution for patient aversion or fear of needlesReduced risk of infectionEasy to use

While this is by no means an extensive list, it goes some way to showing why needle-free anaesthesia is gaining traction as an alternative. However, arguments have been raised to suggest that it isn’t without its downfalls. As with any medical treatment, there are risks involved that need to be taken into consideration and which may be preventing this from becoming standard in cosmetic surgery currently. These risks include a risk of infection (though somewhat lower than traditional needle injections), pain at the site of impact and bruising.

Additionally, studies have suggested that the medication applied through needle-free anaesthesia may not last as long as that which is injected with a needle. This hasn’t been confirmed completely, so currently, this treatment is still being considered a viable alternative for those with fears or discomfort with needles.

In hair transplant patients, this particular method of anaesthetic application can mean a pain-free experience from start to finish. Each hair transplanr begins with the application of a local anaesthetic, and with traditional needle application, this can lead to some discomfort for our patients. While we can take measures to minimise this, the potential for needle-free anaesthesia with a jet injector could help to create a much more comfortable experience and minimise any potential bruising.
